Dr Peter Kojo Quashie is a Senior Research Fellow at WACCBIP. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Experimental Medicine and a Master of Philosophy in Biology from the McGill University, Montreal, Canada.
Before joining WACCBIP, he worked as a CAN-ACA Fellow at The Francis Crick Institute on the potential impact of newer antiretroviral therapy on HIV strains circulating in Ghana and the West African sub-region.
One aspect of his research focuses on Molecular Epidemiology of HIV and SARS-CoV-2, Host:Viral interactions, Antiviral Immune responses and antiviral therapeutics and the other, Host-Pathogen Interactions, Parasite Biology, DNA-Damage-Response-Repair pathway, Drug discovery, Molecular Diagnostics, Protein Chemistry, Immunology
His work is carried out with the aid of key collaborators such as the GIISER Network- Worldwide, WANIDA- West Africa, Erasmus University-Netherlands, ARUA, CAN-UK, Ku Leuven-Belgium, Southampton-UK, Cambridge University-UK, and University of Edinburgh-UK
